Vietnam sticks importance to cooperation with Finland Finland
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland Dang Thi Hai Tam affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of importance to cooperation with Northern European countries, especially Finland when coming to present her credentials to Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on February 12.

Meeting the Finnish President, the Vietnamese diplomat expressed hope for welcoming high-ranking delegations from Finland to Vietnam in the time to come, and pledged her best efforts to further boost bilateral relations for the sake of the two nations’ people.

President Niinistö, in turn, applauded the contributions by the Vietnamese community in Finland to the local socio-economic stability, thereby helping to deepen mutual understanding and stepping up cooperation between the two countries.

He was appreciative of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and effective cooperation between the two nations in recent times, while wishing to create breakthroughs in bilateral economic collaboration, especially in the context that the European Parliament freshly ratified the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Finnish businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market, and more than 100 Finnish firms are operating in the Southeast Asian nation, he told his guest, while asking the Vietnamese Government to offer the best possible conditions for Finnish enterprises’ operation.

The Finnish President also highlighted great potential for both sides to augment existing cooperation and outline orientations for new areas of cooperation circular economy, innovation, technology transfer and startup.

He expressed his confidence that the Ambassador will make greater contributions to reinforcing friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
